One of our miniature shetlands, Tom, and our American miniature horse, Ghengis, are available visit local care/nursing homes. They are both very affectionate and loving ponies. The residents love interacting with the ponies and we love seeing them brighten up their day with lots of smiles and excitement. We feel privileged in knowing that our ponies can make people who are vulnerable feel so much better and happy just from a visit. Ponies are known to offer therapeutic benefits to the vulnerable, elderly and very young. They are instinctive and respond to the emotions of the people around them.

There are many benefits to pony therapy:

  • reduces blood pressure

  • .owers anxiety and strep levels

  • stimulates the release of endorphins- which helps people feel good- important for people who are feeling depressed or isolated

  • encourages exercise and movement to help increase muscle strength, joint mobility, balance and coordination.

  • .increases a sense of community

  • stimulates memory and sharing

  • .improved communication, social and perceptual skills.
